چکیده

Doped ZnO layers deposited by Low Pressure Chemical Vapour Deposition technique have been studied for their use as transparent contact layers for thin-film silicon solar cells. The effect of a variation in the doping level of the front LP-CVD ZnO on solar cell performance is investigated. Based on these experimental results, authors propose to evaluate the effect of the different ZnO layer properties on solar cell performance by the use of a wavelength-dependent figure of merit.

Further Improvement in Efficiency of ZnO Nanorod Based Solar Cells Using ZnS Quantum Dots as Light Harvester and Blocking Layer Material

Zinc oxide nanorod arrays (ZnO NRs) were grown on the ZnO seed layers via an aqueous solution using hydrothermal method and their photovoltaic properties were investigated. It was found that the growth period of 20 minutes is the optimum condition for ZnO nanorods growth, the cell containing these nanorods was considered as a reference cell. In order to further increase the cell performance, Zn...

Investigation and Simulation of the Effects of Dispersion and Transmittance angles on the Solar Cells Quantum Efficiency

In this paper the effects of transmittance, dispersion angle and diffusion length on the quantum efficiency of solar cells (QESC) have been simulated and investigated. Optical path technic is used for simulation. The results show that base thickness, diffusion length, dispersion angle, number of optical confinement path and transmission angles have an extremely effects on the QESC. Simulation r...

ANTI-REFLECTION LAYER AT THE TCO/Si INTERFACE FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY THIN-FILM SOLAR CELLS DEPOSITED ON ROUGH LP-CVD FRONT ZnO

ZnO layers with a wide range of surface roughness and morphologies can be deposited by low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LP-CVD). In this paper, we investigate the effect of a low-resistivity TiO2-ZnO bi-layer incorporated as an anti-reflection coating between the rough ZnO front transparent conductive oxide (TCO) and the silicon layer, for thin film p-i-n microcrystalline silicon solar c...

Synthesis and Characterization of Graphene-ZnO Nanocomposite and its Application in Photovoltaic Cells

In this paper, we present a simple method for preparation of graphene-ZnO nanocomposites (G-ZnO). The method is based on thermal treatment of the graphene oxide (GO)/ZnO paste which reduces the graphene oxide into the graphene and leads to the formation of the G-ZnO nanocomposite. The structure, morphology and optical properties of synthesized nanocomposites are characterized with XRD, FESEM, F...

Reprint, 21 European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, Dresden 2006 FABRICATION OF HIGH EFFICIENCY MICROCRYSTALLINE AND MICROMORPH THIN FILM SOLAR CELLS ON LPCVD ZnO COATED GLASS SUBSTRATES

The fabrication of high efficiency (9-10%) microcrystalline silicon (μc-Si:H) p-i-n solar cells on glass has been so far reported mostly for cells deposited on sputtered and etched zinc oxide (ZnO). In this paper, we describe the preparation of μc-Si:H devices with efficiencies close to 10%, using glass coated with ZnO deposited by low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD). These results a...
